Marvin
The Village of Marvin is located in Union County south of the upscale Ballantyne area which is also
south of Charlotte. Marvin dates back to the 1800’s and continues to be a small, quiet community with great metropolitan access. Horse farms and agriculture abound. In 2004, the Village of Marvin enacted a law to curb its growth and maintain its village feel. The Village Council is committed to a Parks and Greenways initiative which is working to create a network of trail ways and paths that will allow residents to navigate Marvin on foot, bike or even horseback. Marvin is committed to developing a “green” community and the Council decided to become a Patron of the Catawba Land Conservancy. Marvin is the Conservancy’s largest municipal sponsor in a six-county region which includes Union, Mecklenburg, Catawba, Gaston, Lincoln, and Iredell counties.
